Web Development
From May 2019 to January 2026, I managed the Urban League of Metropolitan Seattle website, overseeing its design, functionality, and ongoing updates.
My responsibilities included:
-
Designing the overall aesthetic to align with brand standards
-
Creating and updating web pages
-
Implementing new site features
-
Ensuring site security and maintenance
-
Tracking and analyzing website performance metrics
The first set of images shows the site prior to my work, while the subsequent photos and videos illustrate the modernized design, expanded content, and enhancements I implemented. The site was built and maintained using WordPress.
Major updates included:
-
Complete website redesign/facelift to modernize the look and feel
-
Addition of 30+ new pages highlighting organizational programs, services, impact and engagement opportunities
-
Development of an organic image archive featuring real ULMS staff for authentic visual storytelling
-
Creation of a site entry journey sequence with two clear action buttons—one for those seeking assistance and another for those wanting to contribute—streamlining user navigation, reducing unnecessary scrolling, and connecting visitors immediately to critical resources
-
Streamlined site usability and intake application processes for greater efficiency and accessibility
New features I implemented include:
Sitemap footer with quick links and contact/social information
Black Business Directory featuring 200+ local Black-owned businesses personally sourced and vetted
Email Subscriber Sign-Up Form scaled from 450 to over 1,850 registered subscribers
Volunteer Sign-Up Form scaled from 200 to over 432 registered volunteers
